Olivier Gillier

Managing Director and Equity Specialist

 

Olivier Gillier is a Managing Director of GC Group Capital specialized in providing wealth management services to high net worth individuals. Formerly, Olivier was a Senior Vice President and International Private Client Advisor at Merrill Lynch International Private Wealth Management division in New York, where he worked for 8 years.  Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Olivier worked at Citigold Private Client, Citibank NA New York, specializing in client advisory services and international financial planning. He began his career as a consultant at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting (Brussels, Belgium) for the investment industry. 

For several years he was active as a pro-bono Professor at VLEKHO-Business School (Brussels, Belgium) where he taught “Portfolio Management and Securities Valuation” to finance majors in their final year of study.  He was recognized for “Best Professor” (1:98) for his first three year term of teaching and was ranked in the Top 5 Professors throughout his tenure.

Olivier is a Series 65 Investment Advisor and a Series 7 General Securities Registered Representative.  In addition, he is a Registered Life, Health and Variable Annuity Insurance Agent in the state of Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

Olivier was a regional board member for the American Diabetes Association and is an active participant in the research and fundraising efforts for a childhood illness called HLH/FLH. 

He is fluent in Dutch, English, French, Italian and has a basic knowledge of German.

Marco Casella

Founder and Managing Director

 

Marco Casella is the founder of GC Group Capital, LLC. He was formerly a Vice President at the Merrill Lynch International Private Wealth Management division where he worked for six years as a Financial Advisor, focusing on providing international clients with customized financial planning strategies as well as comprehensive investment solutions. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Marco was a Financial Executive at Citibank NA, based in New York, focusing on private clients from Latin-America.

Marco holds FINRA General Securities Representative License, Series 7, the Uniform Securities Representative License, Series 63, and the Investment Advisor Representative License, Series 65. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Master Degree in Finance from the University “La Cattolica” in Milan, Italy, and completed his thesis on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Thereafter, he specialized in Portfolio Management at the University of California, Irvine (UCI).

As part of Marco’s contribution to the industry, he appears as a frequent guest speaker for CNBC Italy providing global market advice. Marco is a board member of CIIM (the Confederation of the Italian Entrepreneurs in the World) and also teaches as adjunct professor at the International University of Monaco. 

He is fluent in English, Italian and Spanish.

Jacqueline Hirsch

Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange Specialist

 

Jacqueline is a Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange specialist in GC Group Capital providing investment and portfolio solutions to wealth management clients. Prior to GC group Capital, Jacqueline has 15 years of experience in the financial industry.  She started her career at Merrill Lynch in the Fixed Income Department where she was a Director in the Emerging Markets desk trading bonds and managing the derivatives products and strategies for distribution to Merrill’s International Wealth Management platform.  During her years at Merrill, Jacqueline also marketed Fixed Income solutions for Latin American corporate and institutional clients and before that she was part of the product control team for the US Interest Rate Derivatives desks.

 

Jacqueline holds a Masters of Science from Columbia University, in New York, from the department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Metropolitana, in Caracas - Venezuela.  She is a FINRA General Securities Representative License, Series 7.

 

She is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and working knowledge of French.

Jean Ergas

Macroeconomic Strategic Analyst

 

Jean's role as macroeconomic strategic analyst at GC Group Capital is to analyze macro-economic trends and translate these into asset allocation and investment strategies for our clients. Jean has over 20 years of experience in global finance and risk management focusing on a complete breadth of risk analysis, including, currency, interest rate, political, trade, counterparty and credit risk.

 

Distinguishing Jean from many finance professionals is his industrial management experience, facilitating sector analysis. In addition, his strong knowledge of the commodity markets is critical in the assessment of commodity producers and macro trends. His career has encompassed both vast analytical and transactional experience, allowing Jean to view risk from multiple perspectives. He is fluent in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese and is currently studying Arabic.

 

Jean has been extensively interviewed in the international media in several languages. Currently, Jean speaks regularly on CNBC Italy – providing in-depth actionable comments to a broad audience.

 

Some of the companies he has worked for include the global energy group - ENI – 17 Fortune Global 500, Swiss Bank Corporation – now UBS and the A.M.Best Company. Jean has been a senior advisor on global insurance and reinsurance mergers and acquisitions, and also assisted hedge fund investors with regard to risk management.

 

As a recognized expert on risk management and international business, Jean combines his busy schedule at GC Group Capital with his passion for teaching. Jean is an adjunct faculty member at New York University, School of Continuing and Professional Studies, where he teaches a broad range of subjects in the finance, management and risk management area, at both the specialist and Masters level.

 

He is also an adjunct faculty member at Manhattanville College, where he focuses on Foreign Investment and Trade Policy.

 

Jean has also been a member of prestigious panels on risk management and the international economy in both the US and abroad. He was the risk management instructor at Lehigh University’s highly prestigious Iaccoca Institute’s Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry in 2013.

 

Jean has an MBA and an Advanced Professional Certificate from New York University and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has Finra License Series 7.
